SECOND DATAMOSH EXPERIMENT

Posted in Video on January 27, 2010 by blackhelium

This time I tried it using found footage, which I realize does not work as well. Maybe its the quality of the footage I used (I took the images directly off the screen with my camera). But I think datamoshing works best with clear, high quality images to cut through all the fucked-upness. Otherwise you just get fucked-up… which is never a bad thing really. But keep in mind, things appear more fucked-up if they’re working in tandem with non-fucked-up things…anyways its still pretty fucked-up.

FUCKED IN THE FACE WITH DATA

Posted in Video on January 26, 2010 by blackhelium

So this is my first attempt at datamoshing. I used some Helium recordings and deconstructed them to make them sound nothing like the original, but i think goes well with the visuals. More datamosh vids to come as they are fun to make. Although working on them for too long makes one feel a tad seasick and psychopathic.

This time playing with our friends THE SPIVS, and ATOMIC SUPLEX.

Anyway, it seems this break has given us a serious case of sonic blue-balls. So come down and cheer us on as we spray our bubblicious, doom-laden, party tunes into your bleeding ears.

Consumed with Doom

Posted in Sounds on November 9, 2009 by blackhelium

Here is one of the many mixes of Consumed with Doom. Although I highly recommend you buy the vinyl version because a) you’ll keep professional 60s guitar whinger Jack White happy, b) it’ll sound far superior to the Mp3 version c) it’s cooler, and most importantly d) you’ll own two classic pop masterpieces on one single disc… think about it!

The Teeth Vs Black Helium 7″ still available.
